30 day blogging challenge day 26: Weird things I do when I’m alone.

LOOK.jpg

Luke 8:17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.

I am very rarely alone as my wife and I literally do everything together and I mean EVERYTHING together. Privacy became a thing of the past the day she moved in with me.

With that being said, there isn’t much that I do alone but here is a list of a couple of things that I tend to do when I have a second to myself.

1.) Talk to 1331282197216245myself

Everyone says your crazy for doing this, but I think that your crazy if you don’t. I talk to myself everyday it helps me to think straight and actually process my thoughts clearly. What I usually say is muffled though, not like in a loud clear voice. That would be awkward hahaha!

2.) Acting out scenarios in the mirrohow-to-stop-stuttering-stand-in-front-of-the-mirror-to-practise-talkingr

Okay this one I will admit is a bit weird and I tend to stop suddenly when my wife comes in hahaha. Sometimes I plan what I say to people in case I get into a biblical debate, or happen to bump into someone I know. I never feel like its weird until my wife busts in and says,  “uuuhhh what were you doing???”

3.) Flex in the mirror and thinba5dd52b8dc73ef4f79447862db304c4k about what I wish I could improve on

A few years ago a friend of mine and I started a fitness group together. We would go to the local park and do a variety of different exercises and wound recruiting a few of our friends to come along. We were super avid about this and would go to the park five days a week and take two rest days. at the end of our first summer working out I had gained 17 lbs of muscle and was proud of my progress. The following summer we were back at it again, when one Friday I went for a routine check up. I had never been so excited to take my shirt off in public lol. My doc did all the necessary testing and drew some blood and told me he would tell me the results in a couple of days. The weekend passed and I got a call early Monday morning my doctor told me to come in as soon as possible. I went to his office he sat me down and asked me what my physical  activity was like. When I told him I poked my chest out proudly and said, “Well doc I play quite a few sports and intensely work out five days a week!” He replied asking, “Do you do weight training as well?” “Why yes. Yes I do!” says me with a huge grin thinking he was going to congratulate me or something lol. Then my doctor hits me with, “Well I have good news and bad news, which one do you want first?” As my countenance went from happy to worried I replied, “I’ll take the bad news first.” My doctor proceeded to tell me that I had a low muscle and blood enzyme count and that my intense work outs actually had an inverse affect on my health. The harder I worked the harder the enzymes I did have would have to work, which could cause them to burst releasing a substance into my blood stream that could negatively affect my liver, resulting in death. Silence overwhelmed the room as I stood there with my mouth open and a puzzled look on my face. “No more working out for you okay, stop the weight training and intense work outs immediately” My doctor emphatically states, I reply with, “Okay doc no problem, for how long?” “For good, no more for the rest of your life, what ever calisthenics you do, do them in moderation, if you push yourself you’ve gone too far.” A broken, befuddled, flabbergasted look fell upon my face as I was completely in awe about what I just heard. He patted me on the back and told me to relax and that everything was fine because they caught it just in time before any damage was done. This was the good news, but it sure didn’t make me feel very good. Coincidentally, I ran into my buddy that I started the fitness group with on my way home from my appointment. With great zeal on his face he asked me what time we were heading out today to work out. I told him the news but played it off as though I was fine. I walked away because I felt my eyes watering up and didn’t want him to see me cry. So today the weird thing I do is look in the mirror and think about what I could be if only I could work out again.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you.”

Although sometimes I get down about this because I don’t enjoy not being a big strong man lol, I see the blessing in it all. Truth be told I needed to be humbled, I had an unhealthy confidence level because I admired my work ethic and results a little too much. I was a praying and bible reading man, but nothing really came before my work outs and I’m sure you can tell by my conversation and demeanor with my doctor that I was on a bit of a high horse haha.

Since that day I learned to seek confidence in who I am from God instead of an outward appearance.  Jeremiah 17:7, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.” I learned that it is more attractive to be a skinny humble man than an arrogant buff dude. I learned that God does not measure strength by the amount of weight a man can lift, but by the amount of patience a man exhibits for God in the midst of a storm. I learned that strength has nothing to do with muscles but everything to do with faith. The old me wanted me to be as big as Goliath but God wanted me to be David.

Thank you God for humbling my heart, for bringing me to a point of brokenness so that I can look at the pieces of me and realize they don’t belong there in the first place. For helping me to reassemble myself better than I was before. Thank you for transforming me and renewing my mind, that I will be able to discern between your good and perfect will instead of conforming to the ideals of this world. Thank you God, thank you! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

If there are any insecurities you may have, seek God about them. All of our troubles and worries are there to bring us closer to God. Talk to Him about it and seek confidence in the Lord.

30 day blog challenge day 24: How do I see myself in 10 years

warpingspace

I honestly have no idea where I will be in 10 years. God has a funny way of sticking me in certain places and situations and I’ll think my life is going to revolve around it and then He places me somewhere else.He is just so unpredictable with His direction for me that I’m just like what ever Lord. I’m not even gonna bother planning because your just gonna change it anyway.

However my goal is to become an evangelist, blog/comic book/novel author and maybe a vlogger too. I made a video on instagram the other day, which you can check out it is in the sidebar 🙂 If you have an account give me a follow. Lol but the video was well received and I think I will do more of those in the future (only about God of course).

If anywhere, I see myself having all of these things set in motion in the next ten years. My hopes are to make it my main source of income. I seek to spend my life spreading the Gospel and spending time with my wife and children.

Ultimately God’s will be done!

proverbs 19:21  Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail.

proverbs 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps.

Do you have any goals at all? If so what are they? Leave a comment below telling me about your dreams and aspirations hahaha.

Keep frogging it fam (Fully Rely On God)!!!

30 day blog challenge day 23. Where I would like to visit!

edenriver

I would love to visit a land where even the moss on the water serves a healthy purpose, where the trees bring forth fruit that are life giving, Where a glorious light shines through fluffy clouds and a reflection of its magnificent can be seen in the waters. A land where the only trouble is not being able to stay awake to enjoy its splendor.  A land that is so sacred only a being with a pure mind, body and spirit can inhabit it. I wish to visit the Garden of Eden.

30 day blog challenge day 18. what am I passionate about?

20160808_195816

There is no greater passion in my life than the passion I have for God. All I want to do is spread the truth! I want to tell the world about our amazing creator, evangelize, and strengthen the christian community. I’m passionate about building a family that I can ascend to heaven with. I want to expand the kingdom of God and represent my Father in heaven the way he aught to be represented. I want to shift the taste in peoples mouths so that when they hear the word christian they don’t immediately get a sour taste across their tongue. I want people to know and love Jesus the way I have come to know and love Him. With great zeal I learn about Him, write blogs, worship and have fellowship with fellow believers. My desire is to save as many people as possible from eternal torment.

I do not seek to be famous whatsoever, only to make my Lord and Savior famous. I want to bring notice to the one and only celebrity. The root word for celebrity is celebrate, therefore those we regard as celebrities are people we deem to be worthy to be celebrated. The word celebrity has such a negative connotation to it because we use it on common people who do not deserve to be celebrated. Jesus should be the One and Only celebrity! God alone is worthy to be praised, His death and Resurrection is a cause for celebration! His love, grace and desire to save us from a place that was created to punish powerful beings who used to be regarded as angels is a reason to fall to our knees in tears of joy and worship Him.

The King of Kings, The Lord of Lords, The Creator of all things, The Embodiment of Good, The Savior, The Messiah, The Christ, The Healer, The Provider, The Comforter, The Way, The Truth, The light, The Source of everlasting life, The One and Only Living God, Jesus Is what I am passionate about.

Everything Julian does is for Jesus, hence the name JulianforJesus. 🙂

30 day blog challenge day 16. What do I collect?

book collection.jpg

Growing up I had quite a few collections. As a toddler I used to collect interesting rocks that I would find on the ground and name them. When I was in third grade I collected these 25 cent toys called homies that came in a machine at the super market. When I was old enough to have my own gaming system I collected video games. Lastly in high school I collected toy cars.

30 day blog challenge day 10. My favorite book

bible

Haha well this one is a no brainer. My favorite book is the bible more specifically a tie between the Gospels.

Why do I love the bible?

Unlike any other book on the planet it is not just a source of wisdom, it is a source of eternal wisdom. We are capable of learning a never ending amount of different things from reading the same passages.

But aside from the obvious religious reasons it has everything you could possibly want in a book. Amazing love stories, action, drama, betrayal, areas where the bad guy wins, areas where the weak overcome insurmountable odds, war stories, lovable characters and even funny moments. It is a story inspired by the greatest author of all time (God) and the best part is it is all true!

Why do I love the Gospels?

I love the Gospels because they contain the words of Jesus Himself. I can not express how much I love reading His words and learning His ways. Calling it enlightening would be an understatement, helpful would be an insult, amazing does not do it justice, Jesus’ teachings are Just _ fill in the blank if you can hahaha.

Now that you know my favorite book, what is your favorite book? If it is the bible then what book in the bible? Let me know in the comments below, I’m curious to know what you guys like most.

30 day blog challenge day 9: A letter to my childhood

Dear little Julian

Hey young man, I know right now your probably thinking life isn’t very fair. You’re not the tallest or strongest person in the world, you aren’t the most popular person and you definitely don’t fit in, but you will realize as you grow older that all of those things were essential in order to set you apart from this world. God has something special planned for you and in order to get started in the direction He has planned for you, you have to be different. If you were taller, stronger, or popular you would fall right into the cares of this world. you would be treated special so you wouldn’t have the same motives. You are a special boy, a gifted boy and you have  perspective. Don’t let anyone lead you astray! you know right from wrong so listen to your conscience. God speaks to you through that. Understand that mistakes are a part of life, because you are going to make a lot of them, but God does not see you for all you’ve done wrong that is an idea that Satin plants in our heads. God sees you for all that you are capable of, He sees you for all that you can and will do to bring glory to His kingdom. God wants to share Heaven with you, He wants you to worry about eternal riches not the riches of this world that will eventually pass away. Lastly don’t worry about screwing up, take risks with God. Trust Him to bring you through. You’ve got to be bold enough to do the impossible, so when you achieve that goal everyone will know it was only possible because of God. With faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). You are chosen and if God is for you who can be against you (Romans 8:30). When it gets tough keep your eyes focused on God and never fear man or obstacle because you are valuable to God (Matthew 10:29-41). Your such a good boy young Julian, but you are going to be an amazing man!

30 day blog challenge. day 4 My middle name

Today’s post is supposed to be about my middle name and how I feel about it.

My full name is Julian Philip Chambers, for as long as I can remember I’ve always liked my middle name in fact as a child I was partial toward it. I would ask friends and other people I knew to refer to me as Philip or Phil. Hahaha fun fact, The partiality was due to my favorite cartoon character as a child being Philip from the rugrats.

philip

Yep the insect eating baby with the duckey overalls. Why I liked this character is a mystery unbeknownst to me.

But in trying to find a link to the bible for my middle name I found that there are 4 characters in the bible named Philip. Two of them were the sons of king Herod and two were servants of Christ. Naturally I resonate more with the Servants of Christ so those two will be the focal point.

One of those two servants was actually one of the twelve disciples. This Philip is believed to have been martyred in Phrygia by way of torture and crucifixion. The apostle Philip is also the one who asked Jesus after the last supper to show himself and the rest of the Disciples the father. Jesus’ response to Philips request was, “…Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?” (John 14:9) I’ve been told by Muslims and Atheists that Jesus never claimed to be God but this quote is nothing less than Him assertively making that very claim.

Got eem

The Other Philip is known as Philip the evangelist or Philip the deacon in order to differentiate between him and the apostle Philip. This Philip had a Passion for evangelism and was led a lot by the spirit of God to bring the Gospel to a number of people in various places.

So how do I feel about my middle name? Simply put I love it!!!
